10 Movies You Should Watch (Even Though They Suck)

4. The Hunt

The Grey Man
Blumhouse

In The Hunt, a dozen conspiracy theorists wake up in a field, only to learn they've are about to be hunted by a group of sick elitists.

Because Craig Zobel's dark comedy takes shots against liberals and conservatives, The Hunt could've been a thought-provoking satire. But because it focuses on the most extreme stereotypes of left-wing and right-wing politics, it comes across as caricature-riddled schlock.

Even though the message was botched, The Hunt is not without merit. All the actors commit to their roles 100%, especially the lead, Betty Gilpin, who doesn't say a line without doing something to make it memorable.

But the one reason why everyone needs to watch The Hunt is the climax. When our heroine, Crystal, confronts the big bad, Athena (Hilary Swank), you expect a generic brawl.

Instead, we get one of the most well-choreographed fights put to screen over the last decade. Even though the actresses should be commended for their work, the credit must go to the stunt choreographer, Heidi Moneymaker. Considering she's choreographed stunts for John Wick and Captain America: Winter Soldier, it's clear why this scene turned out as well as it did. You may not like the movie itself, but it's impossible not to be wowed by this climactic showdown.
