10 Movies You Won’t Believe Were Box Office Mega Hits
9. Wild Hogs (2007)
The mid-2000s were a strange old time in the land of Hollywood, where movies could earn a ridiculous amount of money at the box office one minute and be completely forgotten about the next. Joining The Pacifier in this highly specific section of our venn diagram is 2007 biker comedy Wild Hogs.
Though it does boast a fearsome foursome of John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, and William H. Macy as the group of pals who escape their mundane lives by pretending to be part part of a biker gang, the movie never really caught fire and left most people who forked up the cash to go and watch the star-studded road trip wondering what all the fuss was about.
The key here is that, despite opening to poor reviews, people did still venture into cinemas to make their minds up on Wild Hogs for themselves, eventually leading to the film roping in a whopping $253.6 million at the box office against a budget of $60 million. Sure, no one was clamouring for Wild Hogs II: The Inevitable Ride Home when all was said and done, but this forgettable slice of fun managed to turn a decent profit regardless.
