10 Movies You Won't Believe Are Already Getting The Remake Treatment

4. Tomb Raider

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life All right, so it's been 10 years since we last saw Tomb Raider branded across cinema screens like it wasn't a video game but an actual movie with actors and everything, but I'm not completely convinced that it's time movie-goers were offered another rendition. The Tomb Raider franchise is probably in the best place that it has been for a long time, so strike while the iron is hot, I guess, but it seems like the filmmakers associated with this are forgetting one very important thing: video game adaptations suck. There's never, ever been a very good one. That's not to say that this reboot/remake/whatever couldn't break the mould (Marti Noxon, who worked on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is helping with the script), and I've got a feeling they're going to cast some unknown hottie as Lara Croft, but I'm not sure there's a major clamouring for this right now. Granted, people will go and see it anyway, because look there's a sexy girl in shorts wielding dual pistols shooting things, and the recently great video game is fresh in the minds of fans, but I'm not convinced anyone needs to waste $100 million on it. Will It Suck? I've got a sneaky feeling that it'll be "okay." That's how people will refer to it when they stumble out of the theatre for one of those movie promos: "Yeah, it was okay."
