Rob Zombie is a man of many, many talents. Not only has he enjoyed success in his own band over the years, he has also found a career in the movie industry both in front of the camera and behind it.

Arguably his most notable hit was 2003's House of 1000 Corpses, whose ultra-violence earned it a cult following, and pretty soon a sequel. The Devil's Rejects released in 2005, and followed the same trio as before, Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), Otis Driftwood (Bill Moseley), and Baby Firefly (Sheri Moon Zombie), though it was received with a more widespread positive vibe than its predecessor.

Even 20 years later it's hard not to feel incredibly uncomfortable at the sight of Captain Spaulding, and the utterly graphic violence that Zombie put into his movie. There may not have been a man literally turned into a mermaid this time, but it still didn't exactly make for pleasant viewing.

It was off the back of this that the director was given the keys to one of the most iconic horror franchises in history, as he rebooted Halloween two years later in 2007, and it feels insane that this was nearly 20 years ago.
