Fido takes place in a 1950s-esque alternate reality after what's known as "The Zombie Wars". Humanity has conquered the initial outbreaks avoiding a total zombie apocalypse, but the radiation still causes the dead to rise unless the bodies are disposed of by decapitation or cremation. Some zombies are kept and controlled by remote controlled collars in order to use them as slaves. The film revolves around one such slave called Fido, played by Billy Connolly. One day Fido's collar malfunctions and he infects one of his owner's neighbours. This leads to a minor zombie outbreak which in turn leads to Fido being confiscated by the Zomcom corporation. The film is an original and quirky zombie comedy, using the juxtaposition of wholesome 1950s America and the horror of zombies living among them. That and its tongue in cheek social commentary, make this a must-see Halloween comedy horror.
Created in a petri dish in an underground lab, I was originally designed by scientists to carry out high-profile assassinations for the CIA. Unfortunately, something went wrong and my only skill was writing list-based articles. So now I do that instead.
