10 Must See Made For TV Horror Movies
2. Someone's Watching Me
Another John Carpenter mention because, well, John Carpenter! One of the greatest directors in the history of horror, Carpenter's Someone's Watching Me mainly gets included here due to it often being considered the 'lost' movie of the iconic Horror Master's career.
Prior to Someone's Watching Me, Carpenter had helmed Dark Star and Assault on Precinct 13, and he'd start work on his game-changing Halloween just two weeks after production wrapped on this TV movie. That said, Someone's Watching Me didn't actually air until November 1978 on NBC, one month after Halloween made its way to cinemas.
At the centre of this picture, we have Lauren Hutton's Leigh, a budding director who finds herself stalked shortly after moving to Los Angeles. Leigh receives a multitude of anonymous phone calls, creepy letters, ominous gifts, and has her apartment broken into and bugged with hidden recording equipment.
To add to the appeal for Carpenter fans, JC mainstays Charles Cyphers (Assault on Precinct 13, Halloween, Halloween II, Elvis, The Fog, Escape from New York) and Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Escape from New York, technically The Thing, and Carpenter's future first wife) are also along for the ride.
