3. Captain Marvel

One of three titular films for characters who have yet to be introduced, the Captain Marvel movie is particularly intriguing because it marks the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to be headlined by a female - and the first female-led superhero movie in general for quite some time. Carol Danvers - who has also been known as Ms. Marvel, Binary and Warbird in the comic books - is the character taking up the Captain Marvel mantle in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we can't wait to see her. In the comics, she gets her powers when a Kree device (the Kree being an alien race already established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) explodes in her vicinity. She goes from being someone who had been an ordinary human member of NASA and the United States Air Force to being an extremely powerful hero possessing superhuman physical statistics, flight and energy manipulation. She will be a superb and unique addition to the Avengers' roster.
