10 New Year's Resolutions For 2013's Biggest Movie Characters

8. To Leave Crime Fighting To Professionals - Dave Lizewski (Kick-Ass 2)

Everyone loves a vigilante, someone who will stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. They're the heroes that ask for no recognition, performing the public service of stomping on crime, usually relying on military or law enforcement experience or on their extensive martial arts training. But then there's Dave Lizewski. Masquerading as Kick-Ass, this plucky young lad's only real ability is taking a hefty beating like the kind of walking punch-bags that champions like to train with. If you were looking for someone to rig a boxing match with he's definitely your man but when your city needs saving? Not so much. Everything he does hurts those around him in some way; he's never really in control of any given situation. He should be applauded for his civic outlook and doing his best for the vulnerable. I am not taking away his achievements; it's just that generally he's not the one who saved the day. While he may be the one to pull the trigger, he's mostly just along for the ride, and after the defeat of his manic, S&M enthusiast arch-nemesis, I think it's time for him to hang up the mask and leave the crime fighting to those that are more qualified than him.
