10 Niggling Worries Over Marvel's Next 10 Movies

10. Will It Suffer From The Last Minute Director Switch? - Ant-Man

Marvel are probably very nervous about Ant-Man. Not only is the property one of the less familiar, but the film experienced a somewhat turbulent production schedule. Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World), the studio's first choice, left halfway through filming due to "creative differences." Which assumedly means that Wright tried to impose too much of a personal vision. That's a no-no as far as Marvel are concerned; they don't want the sense of factory-like continuity to be challenged (so why did they hire Wright in the first place, right?). Anyway, Wright was replaced by Mr. Peyton Reed, a director bet known for his comic ventures (Bring It On, Down With Love, Yes Man), none of which inspire much confidence. So, of course, MCU fans are naturally going to be nervous about this flick - its production has been notably bumpy, and as a sort of Frankenstein's monster of Wright/Reed/Feige, there's a good chance it'll be the studio's weakest effort yet. Still, there is Paul Rudd - always good.
