10 Non-Christmas Films You Can TOTALLY Get Away With Watching This Festive Season

4. Mean Girls

Iron Man 3 Mandarin Aldrich Killian
Paramount Pictures

Is this entry just an excuse to watch Mean Girls again? Maybe. Does it feature more than enough to justify itself on the list? Definitely.

This legendary high school comedy is about a homeschool girl called Cady (Lindsay Lohan) who experiences what it's like to be in an American high school for the first time. Here she comes across various cliques, outsiders and friendship groups as she tries to find her own way of fitting in. After catching the attention of Regina George (Rachel McAdams) and The Plastics, Cady is shown the dark side of what life can be like in high school.

How to convince others: Right, well, first of all there shouldn't need to be any excuse to watch Mean Girls regardless of the time of year and if anyone refuses to watch it, I think it's time to cut your losses and find a new family. This film has a Winter Talent Show where The Plastics perform a risqué dance set to Jingle Bell Rock and who can forget the memorable "You go, Glenn Coco!" line when Damien is handing out presents dressed as Santa?

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
