7. Angelina Jolie

The films that spring to mind as candidates for ones in which Angelina Jolie performed her own stunts are the Tomb Raider movies - they're full of action, after all, and Jolie was obviously fit and healthy at the time. But believe it or not, while she did perform some of the stunts in the movies, one of her stunt doubles on Cradle of Life was actually a man. The same can't be said for Salt, however - this time around, Jolie made sure she got in on all the action herself. Notwithstanding Salt's shortcomings as a movie (action thrillers don't come much more generic) it nevertheless has a few impressive action and chase sequences which liven up the proceedings, and Jolie getting into the spirit of things certainly helps maintain a level of authenticity. She also took a few knocks herself, although surprisingly it wasn't the leap from the bridge onto the truck which nearly sent her to hospital, but a simple tumble into a doorway with a gun - the stunt caused her to slice her face, leaving a scar just above her nose. Angelina Jolie was undeterred by a few scratches and bruises and continues to perform her own stunts - she was recently seen wired to a crane shooting up into the sky during filming for the upcoming live action Disney movie Maleficent. Presumably representatives of the insurance company were also watching on from the sidelines.
