Poor Jar Jar.

While many naysayers regularly like to poke fun at The Phantom Menace - seriously, it’s not that bad - it is more often than not Jar Jar Binks who gets blamed for Episode I’s downfall, for ruining the iconic Star Wars franchise, and, in some fan theories, for setting about the entire events that caused the Empire to run roughshod over the galaxy.

Interestingly, Chuck Wendig’s 2017 Empire’s End novel gave fans an insight into what Jar Jar was up to in more modern times. Following the fall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi, Binks became a street performer who did his best to entertain refugee children. Notably, the children of this tale all adored Binks and his antics, while the adults absolutely hated him. Art imitating life, for sure.

Jar Jar is another character who is officially alive out there somewhere in the galaxy to this day in standard Star Wars canon - the frozen-in-carbonite Jar Jar of video game offering The Force Unleashed deemed non-canon - and the Gungan would be 86 years of age by this point.
