10 Original Movies To Keep On Your Radar For The Rest Of 2017

If you were to look at the year's remaining releases and try and pinpoint a handful of movies that you think will generate the most awards buzz, then Suburbicon would more than likely be on that list.

A tale about a violent home invasion that rocks a prim and proper family town, it's directed by the capable George Clooney, scripted by the sharp-witted Coen Brothers and stars Matt Damon, Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac.

It's a hotbed of Oscar winners, and, in Isaac's case, deserving winners (Ex Machina, Inside Llewyn Davis, take your pick) - should we just hand Suburbicon the statues already?

Well, not quite. Clooney's directorial career has been hit and miss, so it remains to be seen whether he can pull all these amazing pieces together in a coherent fashion. Early reviews have been decidedly mixed, but it's impossible to gauge whether the film will land with audiences until its November release.

However, if the final product is as good as its ingredients would suggest, then Suburbicon should be one of the best movies of the year, and will almost certainly be talked about come awards season.
