There is no question that Al Pacino is one of the finest talents to ever grace a cinema screen, but there is also little argument to be made against the fact that his recent work vastly pales in comparison to the constant stream of classic movies that the Method actor churned out on a regular basis during his heyday. As sad as it sounds, these days Pacino is probably more likely to be nominated for a Razzie than an Oscar. Pacino's only Academy Award win came with his eighth (and so far final) nomination for Scent of a Woman in 1993, which pretty much everyone would agree isn't even among the top five performances of an incredibly distinguished career. The once formidable thespian's descent into mediocrity was capped off in 2012 thanks to Razzie awards for Worst Supporting Actor and one half of Worst Screen Couple for his excruciating involvement as himself in Adam Sandler's risible Jack and Jill.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
