There were rumours of a character being killed off in The Avengers, and those were shown to be accurate when Agent Coulson died at the hands of Loki (well, until he returned in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. of course). The same rumours have persisted throughout Avengers: Age of Ultron's production, with even Joss Whedon teasing the death of an Avenger. We know that Captain America, Iron Man and Thor are safe, but everyone else is definitely at risk. Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury seems like a prime candidate now that S.H.I.E.L.D's dissolution has lessened his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Jackson's contract is also nearing an end). There are those who believe that The Vision's appearance could be a one-off, too. 'The Twins' probably aren't going anywhere this soon, and Scarlett Johansson is too much of a draw to be let go. Could Hawkeye be up for the chopping block, then? That's another strong possibility, but various fan sites have named everyone from Jane Foster to Maria Hill as being the favourites to get killed off, so for now, just hope it's not your favourite hero.
