Thanos was last seen in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Phase 3 is going to be all about setting up Avengers: Infinity War, so one final Phase 2 appearance here makes perfect sense. There are actually two big rumours about how that will go down, with the first being in the form of a hallucination experienced by Tony Stark, thanks to the machinations of the Scarlet Witch. How much of Thanos fans will get to see here is unclear, but Iron Man will apparently be left looking over his fallen teammates on an asteroid in outer space after they've all been killed by The Mad Titan. This was backed up by those who saw an extended version of the scene above at Comic-Con, but there was no sign of Thanos in the brief snippet they were shown. The next rumour is a little harder to believe, but it's claimed that Thor will apparently return to Asgard only to find it completely decimated by Thanos, who has invaded the realm on the hunt for the Tesseract. The fact that Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba are going to cameo as Loki and Heimdall in the sequel adds some weight to it, but it stills seems like a stretch.
