6. Scoot McNairy Is Playing Jimmy Olsen

This is a weird one. When character actor Scoot McNairy (Halt and Catch Fire) was spotted on the set of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice wearing green socks which were clearly going to be used to do something to the lower half of his legs, speculation began running rampant as to who he was playing. It had to be The Flash, right? That was quickly debunked when Warner Bros. announced that they had cast Ezra Miller in the role, leading to a new wave of rumours about which DC Comics character McNairy must be bringing to the big screen. Metallo is a popular suggestion, as is Jimmy Olsen, both of whom could have been injured during Superman's battle with General Zod. Much to the chagrin of some fans, series mainstay Jimmy wasn't in Man of Steel. It wouldn't be too hard to explain that away by mentioning here that he had been sent out by Perry White to photograph the battle between Zod and Superman (only to be severely injured as a result). This would make for an interesting new dynamic for Jimmy and his relationship/friendship with both Superman and Clark Kent. Or maybe he's just some random guy injured during that battle?
