10 Outrageous Claims Made By Movies (That Were Total Lies)

5. Knocking Someone Out With One Punch Is Easy

The Matrix Revolutions In virtually every film in the history of cinema in which a punch is thrown, the recipient will normally hit the floor like a sack of, well, you know what. Of course, boxers and mixed-martial artists are capable of this, but then they've been trained to do it to a very high standard, rather than just your average Joe off the street who has perhaps never thrown a punch in his life. In reality, you are much more likely to "stun" a victim or simply make them angry; knocking someone out takes a winning combination of speed, force, angle and aim, meaning that it's much harder than you think. The funny thing is that we've been reared on this piece of cinematic dishonesty for so long that it just seems normal; we see a burly action hero like Jason Statham smacking a guy in the face and we don't second guess it once. The victim will near-instantly go to sleep for as long as the hero requires.
