10 Outrageously Over-Acted Moments In The Amazing Spider-Man 2
8. Dr. Kafka
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Max Dillon AKA Electro is sent to the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane, where he is placed in a large harness that contains his massive amounts of electrical energy. Whilst there, he is studied by Dr. Kafka (played by Marton Csokas), the head of the institute. Csokas portrays Kafka as the stereotypical mad-scientist who enjoys his work a little too much, wearing an almost psychotic smile and listening to classical music as he relishes the fact that he has a man of such power incarcerated (all while wearing classic mad-scientist clothing, such as a long white coat) and torturing him to get a rise from him. His performance was almost cartoonish. There was actually a hint that he could become this franchise's version of Doctor Octopus, when there was a close-up of his round tinted glasses (and due to the fact that, in general, he bore more than just a passing resemblance to the tentacled villain whose mechanical appendages were shown quite explicitly in other scenes of the movie), so it will be interesting to see what they do with him.
