10 Over-Hyped $100 Million Budgeted Movies NOBODY Even Remembers Now

9. Pan

You know what the world really wasn't asking for in 2015? Yet another Peter Pan movie.

But Warner Bros. insisted that their new $150 million tentpole take on the IP, focused on pop music-singing villain Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) and a suave origin story for an Indiana Jones-esque Captain Hook (Garrett Hedlund), would be a raucous breath of fresh air.

While Pan at least tried to do something superficially different, the core of the movie was so blandly hollow and uninteresting that it's little surprise nobody can remember anything about it except Hugh Jackman and his goons performing a baffling choral rendition of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

Audiences couldn't be persuaded to spend their time or money on it, and so Pan failed to make its budget back, grossing just $128.4 million worldwide.

Believe it or not, Pan has been out eight years this summer, but who among us has given it even a second thought ever since?
