8. Eye Gouge
Examples: 28 Weeks Later, Zombie Flesh Eaters, See No Evil, Event Horizon. The pain of having your eyes gouged out must be absolutely excruciating - and the fact that the attack would leave you blind and unable to see the subsequent attack on you (which will likely result in your death) would be an absolutely terrifying thing to experience. For me, the most memorable eye-gouging scene comes from a fairly recent movie - 2002's 28 Weeks Later - in which Don (one of the main characters of the movie, played by Robert Carlyle) sneaks through security to make an unauthorised visit to his wife Alice in her isolation cell (where she is being kept due to the fact that she is infected with the Rage Virus, despite not showing any symptoms) and asks for her forgiveness for abandoning her earlier in the movie. When they kiss, however, the Rage Virus in her saliva immediately infects him and he brutally attacks her - including a terrifying eye-gouging assault. Other movies in which eye-gouging occurs include the classic gorefest that is Zombie Flesh Eaters and the movie starring WWE's Kane as the killer - See No Evil.
