10 Painfully Long Movie Marathons You Have To Do At Least Once

9. Saw - 760 Minutes

Saw Cary Elwes
Lionsgate

The Films: Saw, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, Saw 3D and Jigsaw.

How Long?: 12 hours, 40 minutes.

Why You Have To Try It: The Saw franchise may not have swayed critics, but it nevertheless holds a firm place in the hearts of horror fans because it feels like the true, spiritual successor to all the overdone horror series of decades past, such as Halloween, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

While hardly high-brow entertainment, the first, third and sixth movies are genuinely quite decent, while the others still serve up lashings of gnarly gore and, yes, the requisite silly plot twists.

You might feel a tad numbed by all the violence at the end of this half-day sit, but if you do feel the urge to nap at any point, the interminably dull Saw V is a good shout.

Loaded with boring flashbacks and touting the worst twist in the series - that there actually isn't a twist - it's dead weight in an otherwise trashily energetic torture porn extravaganza.
