10 Painfully Long Movie Marathons You Have To Do At Least Once

6. Hellraiser - 892 Minutes

Hellraiser 1
Dimension FIlms

The Films: Hellraiser, Hellbound: Hellraiser II, Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth, Hellraise: Bloodline, Hellraiser: Inferno, Hellraiser: Hellseeker, Hellraiser: Deader, Hellraiser: Hellworld, Hellraiser: Revelations and Hellraiser: Judgment.

How Long?: 14 hours, 52 minutes.

Why You Have To Try It: Though the Hellraiser franchise may not be as mainstream as the other offerings on this list, it's an easy recommendation for horror fans tired of the same, repetitive slasher villain nonsense.

Though the quality of the 10 movies to date is all over the place, every single one of the movies feels distinctly different from what came before it. While you can criticise the Hellraiser franchise for many things, resting on its laurels sure isn't one of them.

Yes, grotesque body horror is featured across the board, but the sequels branch off in ambitious directions that explore the mythology of the villains known as the Cenobites, while dabbling in genres as disparate as sci-fi, detective thriller and period drama. Keep your eyes peeled and you'll even spot a few before-they-were-famous faces in the crowd, namely Adam Scott and Henry Cavill.

It is admittedly a long sit at just shy of 15 hours, but with each movie clocking in at only around 90 minutes, they do tend to pass by rather quickly, especially as they're all so uniquely weird.

Thankfully, just as the series diverges into awfulness with its last two movies churned out solely to keep the Hellraiser rights in tact, the run-times drop down to 75 and 81 minutes respectively. Phew.
