10 Past MCU Moments That Will Mean Something Big In Phase 4 And Beyond
9. He Who Remains' Death - Loki
For years we thought that everything that happened in the world of the MCU was entirely dictated by the people inside of it. After all, free will and liberty are the main themes of practically every superhero.
However, all that changed when Loki revealed that it was all predetermined by the TVA. A time-keeping organization set to preserve the Sacred Timeline, a series of events that the Timekeepers declare as the “true and only” sequence.
That was until Loki’s variant Sylvie killed He Who Remains, the man solely responsible for keeping order in the timeline; his death marked the return of one of Marvel comics’ most infamous villains: Kang The Conqueror.
The role Kang will play in the future of the MCU is still unknown, but it’s very likely we’ll see him become a primary antagonist who will rival the likes of Thanos as one of Marvel’s biggest villains. We'll also likely see him sooner than expected as Loki is set to return for a second season, and Kang is also rumored to appear in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp movie.
