10 People Who Died To Bring You Legendary Films

5. George Camilleri - Troy

From the sword and sandals epic of ancient Rome to Wolfgang Petersen's blockbuster retelling of the Trojan War. Based on Homer's Illiad, source material doesn't come much more legendary than this, and Petersen marshals together an all-star cast including Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom and Eric Bana along with an army of extras to ensure the appropriate degree of awe and scale is achieved. When Brad Pitt, playing Achilles, tore his left Achilles tendon during the shooting of Troy, no doubt he would have been amused by the irony. The same couldn't be said for bodybuilder extra George Camilleri - in an accident echoing the misfortune of Roy Kinnear on the set of The Return of the Musketeers, Camilleri severely broke his leg and suffered a heart attack after being treated in hospital. After further treatment he was released from hospital only to suffer a second heart attack leading to his unfortunate death.
