Played in the mini-series by: Molly Ringwald A college student from Ogunquit, Maine, the reader learns very early on that Frannie is pregnant. Far from being the ideal news, it becomes even more dire once everyone in her community, including her parents, is wiped out by Captain Tripps. After leaving town with Harold, Fran meets and eventually falls in love with Stuart Redman, and he readily accepts her delicate position, and vows to stay with her and support her. As events unfold, Harold's unrequited love for her and his unchecked jealousy prove disastrous for all in the Boulder Free Zone. When Stu and three others head for Vegas for the ultimate showdown with Flagg and his people, Fran is left wondering if she will be left to face life - and the birth of her child - alone. Is there any actress that is riding a popularity wave bigger than Jennifer Lawrence right now? Funny, self depricating, beautiful and talented, it seems that anything she touches turns to gold. Fran Goldsmith was poorly cast in the original with Molly Ringwald in the role. Fran is feisty, strong, smart and intuitive. Entrusting the character to the vibrant and incomparable Lawrence would go a long way to helping you forget the regretable foible that was "Pretty in Pink vs. The End of the World."
A self professed Stephen King/Star Wars geek and pop culture neophyte, Scott tends to spend much of his time alone pondering life's greatest mysteries.....he also depends heavily on his son Liam, a great sounding board, to set him straight on Star Wars issues and gives him advice on what EXACTLY he's doing wrong.
