Secret Invasion isn't really all that good of a comic. It has a killer premise - that much is true - but the execution of the storyline in the mainstream Marvel Universe was flawed, to say the least.

That shouldn't put off attempts to make it happen on the big screen, though. After all, the actual Civil War comic book was pretty mediocre once the initial spectacle of seeing heroes face off against each other wore off, and the film that bore its name was fantastic in a whole manner of different ways.

With the announcement that Captain Marvel would be facing off against the Skrulls in her solo movie having set our speculative sights firmly on who could - or couldn't - already be a Skrull, it's clear that it's a topic worth exploring. We'd be keeping an eye on Nick Fury in particular...
