3. Baise Moi (2000)
With a title that literally translates as 'F**k Me'/'Rape Me', you can be sure that there is sexual perversity galore in this movie. Our two main protagonists are Manu and Nadine. Nadine is on the game and Manu does part time porno movie work. Both women are pissed off big time and alienated from society. Manu is gang raped but instead of showing distress, she looks very bored throughout the ordeal - yes, she is that jaded. She returns to her brother's house. He deduces what went on and calls Manu a slut. In return for this diss, she shoots him. Meanwhile, things are not working out well either for Nadine. She gets into a fight with her roommate and strangles her. Manu and Nadine meet in random circumstances and are immediately drawn to each other. They head off on a violent and sexual rampage against the society that spurned them, evoking fear and awe in equal measures. Of course nothing good comes of it. Baise Moi has lots of unsimulated sex - heaps and heaps of it - which makes the film a rather jarring experience. The sex in the film could not be called 'porn' even though it has hardcore inserts. They are not there to get off on because they show how ugly sex can be. How it hurts people, warps people and degrades them (see the rape scene at the beginning). Nevertheless, the film is quite pervy in terms of its sexual content but it definitely won't turn you on unless you are a true deviant, in which case God help you.
