10 Pettiest On Set Movie Feuds

6. Bill Murray Gets Bored, Lashes Out

Terminator Salvation Ending
Sony Pictures

He’s one of the most beloved actors in Hollywood and one of the few performers who lifts every film he appears in, but Bill Murray is a certified weirdo. His exploits are the stuff of legend, and mostly they’re charming, popping up at parties and bartending with the Wu Tang Clan.

Sometimes, though, these eccentricities make way for nastiness. Co-starring as Bosley in 2000’s Charlie’s Angels reboot, the former Ghostbuster took against Lucy Liu for reasons still unknown. He reportedly criticised her skills repeatedly, telling her that she couldn’t act, and aggravating Liu until she had no recourse but to respond with violence.

Murray - who has a history of this kind of behaviour - denied some while after the fact that a grievance with Liu led to him not returning to the part in the sequel, for which producers hired the somewhat more affable Bernie Mac.

Oh, and he was also accused of headbutting director McG; again he denied this, but did assert that the mononymic director “deserves to die”, which is a bit harsh (even if he did make This Means War).
