10 Planned Comic Book Movie Scenes We’ll Never Get To See

4. Batman Gets Naked On A Horse - 1989 Batman

Okay, so that title is a little indirect, but the horse-back chase sequence that was taken out of the original Batman did feature an odd suggestion that Batman had managed to strip off and change outfit while riding a horse at high speed through Gotham, and keeping up with the fleeing Joker, who he then basically made kill the Graysons. Burton's Batman was initially intended to include a new version of Robin (this was prior to Marlon Wayan's casting for Batman Returns), who would be given an origin scene that was genetically very similar to how Chris O'Donnell's Dick Grayson would become the Boy Wonder in Batman Forever (in terms of his family dying as collateral damage). As part of an extended sequence, which was story-boarded, Batman would chase The Joker on a horse, initially in his evening wear but with his face concealed with a stocking mask, perform a quick change after Alfred speeded to the scene in his super VW bug (seriously), and give chase in full Batsuit. The chase would then take them to a free open air concert starring the Flying Graysons, which Joker uses as his means to getaway by throwing an explosive in the back of a fireworks truck. In the ensuing chaos, Dick's father falls to his death and his mother is burnt alive in front of her son. Which is clearly why Warner Bros. pulled the plug on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzM20yIpUMA
