10 Poor Versions Of Awesome Movie Characters With One Excellent Scene

6. Dracula

Dracula is a horror icon first appearing in Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel about a vampire looking for new blood and victims. Over time, Dracula has taken on a stereotypical look that allows the character to be recognized in anything from children’s cartoons to adult programming. Other times, Dracula has taken on a very unfamiliar look and feel that can polarize both fans and critics.

Many actors have tried their hand at being Dracula with some nailing it like a stake through the heart. Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee have become synonymous with the role. And there have also been awful portrayals of the character that fall far from the high standards set by Lugosi and Lee.

John Carradine is neither extreme and mostly a footnote when it comes to actors who have played the iconic vampire. However, Carradine’s hypnotism piano scene in ‘House of Dracula’ (1945) demonstrated his untapped potential as Stoker's classic character.
