Children of the '90s will fondly remember the many years spent pretending to be any one of an ever-expanding list of Rangers. While the show continues to run in one form or another, a remake of the original (and most successful) series of Power Rangers was cause for much excitement among its fans.

2017's Power Rangers was an interesting take on the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers story. Doing away with the '90s cheesiness of the series and replacing it with grittier visuals and CGI armour, Power Rangers was certainly an ambitious undertaking, and received mixed reviews among critics.

Poor box office performance killed the planned sequel and franchise, but Power Rangers was a movie that did a lot of things right. It managed to nail the team dynamic between the five Rangers and their mentor, Zordon, with just enough innovation to keep it fresh without alienating fans of the series.

Power Rangers was a movie forced to walk a very thin line, and it did so commendably. Although this iteration didn't quite land the way it deserved to, there is reportedly another reboot in development, meaning that we might yet see Power Rangers fight their way to the forefront of pop culture once more.
