10 Poorly Reviewed Movies That Deserve Another Chance At A Franchise

The Warcraft franchise boasts a truly massive amount of lore and stories of epic proportions, so the announcement that it would be getting its own movie was met with a lot of excitement from fans.

Originally announced way back in 2006, when World of Warcraft had a stranglehold on the MMORPG genre, the movie bounced around development hell until its release a full decade later.

The final result was fairly underwhelming. While it did a lot to depict many of the most significant events and characters of Warcraft's lore, it felt far too shallow to fully capture the nature of Azeroth and its inhabitants.

The frustrating part is that it wasn't too far off the mark. Warcraft's writing wasn't particularly enthralling, and the heavy dependence on CGI was somewhat jarring.

While there were certainly a few mistakes in the first outing to learn from, Warcraft could still make a promising and interesting franchise. There's clearly no shortage of stories to tell and going forward there's a lot for fantasy fans to get excited about, and it would be a shame to see Hollywood give up on that promise so easily.
