The story behind this entry is quite interesting. Originally, Emilio Estevez approached Jon Bon Jovi about using Wanted Dead Or Alive in the film, thinking that the song's western theme would match the movie.
However, Bon Jovi declined on the basis that the song's lyrics about his band being in tour didn't exactly fit the overall tone of the film. Instead, Bon Jovi opted to contribute an entirely new song to the film's soundtrack, and so, wrote Blaze Of Glory as his contribution.
A stellar solo effort from Jon Bon Jovi, Blaze Of Glory is a potent power ballad that encapsulates all of Bon Jovi's talents as a singer and a songwriter. The combination of electric and acoustic guitars serve to keep the track reminiscent of the film it belongs to, as well as keep it grounded with the hard rock roots that Bon Jovi is known for.
