10 Potential Directors For The Jurassic World Sequel
4. Joss Whedon
Back in April, Joss Whedon criticised a Jurassic World clip as being "70s era sexist." Well, if he really feels that way, he should take over the next instalment and show Trevorrow how it's really done. Whedon of course directed The Avengers as well as Age Of Ultron, but he seems to be pretty much done with Marvel and ready to move on to something else. With the Avengers movies, Whedon found a great balance between awesome fight sequences and memorable character moments, and he definitely improved his action directing with Ultron. And if you're of the opinion that the biggest problem with Jurassic World was that the characters were clichéd and not fleshed out enough, well, there's nobody who has a better handle on characters than Whedon. With The Avengers, he was able to take Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, who had barely anything to do in Iron Man 2, and make her one of the biggest badasses in the movie. Age Of Ultron did the same for Hawkeye, who by the end felt like a valuable part of the team. Whedon is no stranger to coming into a franchise and really expanding on it all in an effective way, and after his recent departure from Marvel he's in the prime position to make a Jurassic Park sequel with characters as memorable and fleshed out as the original.
