10 Potential Directors For The Jurassic World Sequel

3. Marc Webb

Marc Webb is a pretty talented director who got caught up in an unfortunate situation with the most recent Spider-Man movies. Not long after Spider-Man 3, Sony rushed the reboot intro production, and after Webb's two films did increasingly poorly at the box office, Sony gave up and decided to share the character with Marvel. While Webb's films definitely had some problems, for the most part the flaws weren't really his fault, and the guy is clearly very talented and could bring some of his skills to Jurassic Park. His first big breakout hit was (500) Days Of Summer, among the best romantic comedies in recent years and full of interesting directorial flourishes, like the "expectations vs. reality" sequence. With the Spider-Man movies, almost all of the problems boil down to the script, but Webb himself does a solid job in the director's chair (especially when you consider he was battling studio meddling), with some excellent web slinging action that's still pretty thrilling and kinetic. The finale of The Amazing Spider-Man is still enjoyable, and the standoff in the most recent movie against the Green Goblin mostly works. Webb certainly has an opening in his schedule after what happened with Spider-Man, and he could bring both the lovable characters of (500) Days Of Summer and the exciting action of Spider-Man to the Jurassic Park franchise.
