10 Potential Directors For The Jurassic World Sequel
5. Brad Bird
Brad Bird recently directed the Disney film Tomorrowland, a movie that had some problems but still captured a feeling of magic, wonder and awe. The film has a fantastic sense of discovery, dealing more with expectation of the mysterious world of Tomorrowland, thus making you long to visit it the futuristic environment. Some of the most memorable sequences of the original Jurassic Park were just the characters arriving to a place and being in awe of it, like with the famous gate shot. The sense of wonder at this environment is a huge part of the success of the first movie, and that's a feeling present in Tomorrowland. Arguably one downfall with Jurassic World was that it didn't have quite the same feeling as Spielberg's original film, but Bird might be the guy to bring that back. And though Tomorrowland wasn't too action heavy, Bird also directed Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, which had some of the most jaw dropping action in recent movie history, including the sequence of Tom Cruise dangling off the Burj Khalifa. If what Jurassic Park 5 needs is a sense of magic, memorable characters and thrilling action, Brad Bird would be perfect. He is a Pixar alum after all.
