10 Potentially Awesome Movies That Need To Escape From Development Hell

4. Rendezvous With Rama

rendezvous-with-rama Rendezvous with Rama has been the pet project of David Fincher and Morgan Freeman for quite some time now, and despite the fact that two of Hollywood's biggest names are attached, it seems to have as much of a chance of being seen on cinema screens as Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis. Based on a novel from acclaimed sci-fi writer, Arthur C Clarke, Rendezvous with Rama always seemed ripe for the big screen it just needed an innovative brain to spearhead it. Virtual unknown screenwriter, Stel Pavlou is said to have written a script, but very little is known about its contents and how faithful it is to the source. Various questions have been raised over whether current technology could do Clarke's novel justice and the budget would presumably be very high for an uncommercial project which could turn a lot of studios off. The film would be massive in scope and the chance to see Fincher do something like this is scintillating, but the famed director himself said bringing the novel to life seems unlikely, meaning it has to rot away in development hell for a little longer.
