10 Potentially Great Marvel Movie Villains (That Were Grossly Underused)

7. Baron Von Strucker

Having been so hyped up in the end credits of previous films, as well as having a much larger role in the comics, it was a disappointment for fans to see HYDRA's big bad leader Baron Von Strucker be thrown out in the first twenty minutes of Age of Ultron.

Considering his position in HYDRA leadership, and his name being tossed around in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, Baron Von Strucker had more hype than he had screen time. His potential was wasted, especially given his role in manipulating Pietro and Wanda into working for HYDRA (the most literal Nazi death cult seen in any film apart from the actual Nazis) and granting them their powerful abilities.

A man who was able to lead an entire secret group and perform experiments based on powerful alien tech ought to have more time and attention, and this failed introduction and premature destruction made his useless setup from previous films all the more disappointing. Like the Mandarin, Strucker was a great and looming threat that was shoved aside to make way for one of cosmic proportions, which was a disappointment for all the fans looking for a proper showdown.
