An ominous shot in the first trailer for the upcoming Miles Morales-starring Spider-Man animated movie showed the grave of Peter Parker himself, reflecting the fact that, in the comic run featuring Morales' Spider-Man, Parker is dead.

We know that the movie will see Miles visiting numerous alternate universes of New York City, where he'll encounter a seemingly teenage Peter Parker, and it's also been confirmed that John Krasinski will play another version of Parker, presumably middle-aged.

It's unclear how explicitly the film will linger on the circumstances of Peter's death in Miles' original universe, but seeing him dead on-screen in any reality is sure to be weirdly chilling for Spidey fans.
