The Multiverse is coming to the MCU, just not as soon as we thought. The sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange will bring the existence of who knows how many alternate realities in 2021, but after the trailer release, the smart money would have been on Spider-Man: Far From Home introducing this cosmic aspect.

This was less a prediction and more exactly what we were told would happen. The trailer for Far From Home showed Quentin Beck explaining that he came from Earth-833 - an identical parallel universe to the Earth-616 Peter Parker knows and loves.

Of course, we now know that Mysterio the super villain wasn't being completely truthful with the good guys. Instead, Quentin Beck was simply a super intelligent Stark employee with a lot of technology at his disposal, and a wild imagination, p*ssed off for the dumb name change of his invention.

While it was disappointing to be trolled this way by Marvel Studios, Beck's origin change worked better in the MCU, tying the villain to Peter's father figure, and adding him to the seemingly growing list of geniuses in the franchise.
