10 Predictions For Fox's Upcoming Marvel Movies

9. Channing Tatum's Gambit Won't Happen

Channing Tatum seems genuinely passionate about the Gambit solo project he's been attached to since 2014, though that hasn't helped it get off the ground.

Fox and their X-Men universe honcho Simon Kinberg insist they're still committed to telling the card-tossing Cajun's origin story, but given that there's no longer a director attached to the project, it's barely anything more than a nice idea.

The truth is, when a film gets trapped in development hell, the chances of it ever emerging grow slimmer by the years, and since multiple directors have left Gambit, it's starting to look like something of a poisoned chalice.

That isn't to say Fox will never get a Remy LeBeau movie off the ground. They might, but the chances of this version ever seeing the light of day aren't great.

No doubt Tatum will take on other work between now and a time when those behind the project have gotten their act together, which means the stars will have to align in order for him to fit Gambit into his schedule.
