Black Widow is clearly a big part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shes starred in Iron Man 2, Avengers Assemble, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and will return in Age Of Ultron. She isnt a miniscule throwaway character, and is clearly a strategic and tactical genius within the fictional universe. And yet, despite her many assets, she was pretty much wasted in The Avengers. Her character development went as far as an obscure reference to Budapest, and she was simply used as eye candy and a token female character in a male dominated film, rather to enhance the story or action scenes. She certainly was better used than Hawkeye, but that is not exactly a hard job given how much of an injustice the film was to Marvels expert archer. The character was developed well in The Winter Soldier, where Scarlett Johansson gave the character a human element that has been missing from her previous portrayals of the Russian femme fatale. The Age Of Ultron trailer shows the ex-KGB agent getting close to Banner, and it looks like the film will continue her development during The Winter Soldier. It certainly seems as though Age Of Ultron will fix this injustice, but it remains a major issue with The Avengers. What did you think? Are there any issues that were missed?
