10 Problems For Marvel Studios If They End Up Owning Every Character
5. Insane Costs
Of course, everyone knows that Marvel and Disney are insanely rich and there's no doubt whatsoever that they could afford to carry out this merger and create a film with all the lead stars, but whether or not they'd be willing to spend so much is another matter. Actors would end up fighting over who got paid more and, given that the baseline figures start at ridiculously high levels, such a war could end up being very costly for Marvel and Disney. Hugh Jackman was reportedly offered $100 million last year for four more appearances as Wolverine and Robert Downey Jr. earned a combined $100 million for The Avengers and Iron Man 3 - and those kinds of demands would just be for starters. Andrew Garfield - who has been financially low-balled so far in his role as Spider-Man - would expect a massive increase in his pay and with big names like Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry and Scarlett Johansson also likely to be on board, the outgoings for cast salaries alone would be insane. Add other aspects of a movie's budget in to the mix - like CGI and the hundreds of people behind the scenes who'd need paying - and it would probably demand more investment than any movie that's ever been made.
