We're just a few short months away from the release of the comic book movie everyone is desperate to see succeed, as Marvel's Deadpool finally gets the R-rated treatment he (hopefully deserves). It's something of a risky project for studio Fox, though, as evidenced by the sheer number of ridiculous pitfalls the final product could fall into. Sure, the trailer and general promotional material so far certainly looks promising, but we've all been duped by fantastic advertising countless times before, so it wouldn't be the first time. Moving far away from the comic book blockbuster template, Deadpool should stand apart from the pack, but this could also be its downfall, in trying something different that just doesn't connect with audiences. From the talent behind the camera to the star in front of it, a potential audience rejection of the material and countless creative problems moving forward, it'll be nothing short of a miracle if Deadpool is a major critical and commercial success, yet one that every fan is surely crossing their fingers for.
