7. It Will Probably Be Too Meta For Mainstream Audiences
One of the most memorable aspects of the Deadpool character is his fourth wall-breaking abilities, where he'll talk to the audience and basically draw attention to the fact that he's in a work of fiction separated from our own reality. This was essentially missing from his appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (unsurprisingly), but has been confirmed to return for the new movie and was even shown off in the outrageous first trailer. The question remains, though: will this be too weird and meta for mainstream audiences? Casual cinemagoers may simply find the wall being broken down to be too confusing or strange, because can you imagine Tony Stark stopping the action to give the audience a wink and nudge during an Avengers movie? On the other hand, audiences proved with Guardians of the Galaxy that they're willing to get on-board for some pretty peculiar s***, and let's face it, the protagonist having a dialogue with the audience isn't half as weird as a giant tree monster and an anthropomorphic raccoon.
