The main villain in Deadpool will be Ajax, played by former Game of Thrones star Ed Skrein. In the comics, Ajax oversaw part of the Weapon X program and was himself experimented upon to have super strength, speed and an inhuman tolerance for pain, and curiously the first trailer barely showed him off to audiences at all. Did Fox just want to focus on establishing Deadpool first, or do they know that their villain is the weakest aspect of the movie? It's something Marvel movies have struggled with for years so it wouldn't be too surprising, especially considering how much personality Deadpool has by comparison. However, there are two main red flags going up here: Ed Skrein isn't a particularly good actor as he proved recently in The Transporter Refueled, and what's been shown of Ajax looks absolutely nothing like his comic book counterpart. Sure, his "final form" is possibly being intentionally held back from trailers, but then again, perhaps not.
