1. Ultimately, Nobody Will Be Happy With The Conclusion
Difficult though it is to imagine, upon its release Freddy Vs Jason was quite the cultural event. Horror fans had been clamouring for a team up between the two long-running franchise darlings for years, and the question of who would win in a fight was subject to almost as much furious debate as the Batman V Superman pairing. They needn't have made a full-length film, since audiences were only there for one thing: the climax, when they would find out which of the two horror icons prevailed over the other. And it was a total cop out. Superficially it looked like Jason had won, having hacked Freddy to bits. Then, as he carried the Nightmare On Elm Street star's severed head away as a trophy, the pizza-faced supernatural serial killer winked at the audience. So...nobody won? In all likelihood Batman V Superman will end in a similarly disappointing stalemate, therefore managing to roundly fail on delivering what its title was selling. Really, though, there's no way that match-up will go down without somebody being disappointed. Either nobody wins, and everybody's angry; or Batman loses, and his fans kick off; or Superman loses, and then so do his. This film will not be able to please everyone, or even anyone at this rate. And again, they're choosing to base this two-hour film around one fight. Who wins there, really? Well, Warner Bros execs, certainly...
