4. Does Ultron Kill Thor?

Given how much Joss Whedon loves killing off beloved characters in his movies (and, in the case of The Avengers, then allowing them to be lamely resurrected in a TV spin-off), the betting has already begun over who will end up on a morgue slab in Age of Ultron, with many speculating that one of the Avengers themselves might end up biting the bullet. One of the most interesting shots in the trailer to this end is of Thor's arm lying limp next to Captain America's broken shield, prompting fans to wonder: is Thor going to die by Ultron's hand in Age of Ultron? The Likely Answer: If one of The Avengers is going to be killed off by Ultron, it may as well by Thor, because unlike the other superheroes, Thor can simply be sent to Hel or even Valhalla and eventually find a way to return for the third-act set-piece. It's a decent enough way to technically "kill" one of the characters without losing a star name and face from the franchise, all the more so if Thor's fate is kept a secret for a significant portion of the film.
