10 Questions You Should Be Asking About Upcoming Movies

3. Is It The Wolverine Origins Character? - Deadpool

After discussions more dragged out than Wolverine's obsession with Jean Grey, it's finally been confirmed we're going to get a Deadpool movie. The Merc with a Mouth has been a fan-favourite since he was first introduced in 1991 and there's a strong desire amongst the fan community to get him right. And we sure know how it can go wrong; memories of a topless, mute Wade Wilson from X-Men Origins: Wolverine still haunt our nightmares. Sadly it's not the pinnacle of superhero dreams-come-true that it initially seems. The film, which let's not forget is based on a character who swears while causing his enemies to hemorrhage blood, is going to be a PG-13 and Ryan Reynolds, who was the man behind the terrible make-up in Origins, is set to be the star. Which begs the question; is this film going to feature the same Wade Wilson we all despised from Wolverine? X-Men (in whose universe Deadpool will exist) has always prided itself in maintaining continuity (ignoring Trask recasts), which means this is something we really should pay more attention to. The way out of this is to use the Days Of Future Past time rewrite to essentially have this as an alternate version of the character, but we'll have to wait and see.
